- Who is Doctor Computer?
- Adam and Cori Zweibel founded Doctor Computer in 2002. We have a staff of
technicians that allow us to service 94.2% of all service requests the same day
in Northern and Central New Jersey (click to see service
area)
- We have successfully completing thousands of computer repairs and
maintained thousands of computer systems because we created a standard
that eliminates computer problems before they occur, keep your systems running
and get you back up if you do have an unavoidable computer disaster.
- Where are you located?
- We provide on-site service and our technicians travel all over NJ to your
home or office to help you with your computer issues at your location and we
don’t charge for travel time. (Click for
service area) We do not have a storefront and we do not do drop offs.
- Who handles your service calls?
- Our technicians are our employees. They have an average of 11
years of onsite computer problem solving experience not just book or test knowledge.
- Do you supply new and replacement parts and equipment?
- Our technicians come prepared with the necessary hardware and software diagnostic
tools, parts, and products to successfully repair your computers and to setup
and install new hardware and software.
- We typically carry: memory, hard drives, power supplies, new computers, cd/dvd
burners, software and networking equipment so you don't have to go run out and buy
anything. If we do not have the part you require, we will gladly special order it
for you and come back to install it as soon as the part arrives.

- Do you provide evening appointments?
- Our last appointment during the week is between 4:30 and 5:30 from Sunday through
Thursday. Our last appointment on Friday is around 2 PM. Our technicians love their
jobs but need time off like everyone else. We do offer weekend appointments if the
early evening appointment is not convenient.
- Do you provide weekend appointments?
- Yes our technicians are available by appointment on Saturdays
and Sundays and we will book appointments from 9 AM to 2 PM on Saturday and 9 AM to
5 PM on Sunday.
- How soon can you get here?
- If you call us before noon, 94.2% of the time we will schedule your
appointment the same day. This is a service record we are especially proud
of because we know that most if not all of our competitors do NOT do this.
- What does a one-hour appointment window mean when you schedule
my appointment?
- We give our technicians a 30 minute to 1 hour window to arrive, so that if the
appointment is between 9 and 9:30 that means our technician will arrive between 9
and 9:30. Our clients understand that we try our best to be punctual, but there are
sometimes unavoidable delays because of traffic and weather but we will call if we
are running late.

- What forms of payment do you accept?
- Cash or check at the end of the appointment.
- Do you charge for travel time?
- No
- Is there a minimum charge for an appointment?
- Yes we have a one-hour minimum charge. We will provide a full hour of service
even if we solve your problem in the first 15 minutes.
- How much experience do you have with Apple computers?
- Yes our technicians have consistently worked with Apples and Macs and have
onsite problem solving experience not just book or test knowledge.

- How can I be sure you will get us back up and running
quickly?
- Some disasters are unavoidable. The preventative measures we
provide can minimize the impact. We can’t protect you from a virus that hasn’t been
created yet BUT we set up backup systems that are automated and automatic.
This allows us to quickly get your system restored so you can get back to business
typically the same day. Unbelievable as it sounds, most backup systems that are
installed aren’t working or will make it virtually impossible to restore your programs
and data. We fix that.
- How can I tell if my computer has a virus or is infected by
Spyware?
- Some of the most common symptoms include: it is running much more slowly,
frequent crashes, error messages, it freezes up, internet connectivity issues, and
unwanted pop ups. These problems won’t fix themselves and will only get
worse.
- My computer is running very slow, what are the possible
issues?
- There can be many reasons for this including: the age of your computer, the
amount of memory, the processor speed, number and amount of programs on your computer,
viruses, Spyware and more. We conduct a comprehensive analysis of your issues
when we arrive and will provide cost effective options to solve them.
- I know I should backup my stuff but it takes time and the program
is not that easy to use.
- We understand. We set up backup systems that are automated and automatic.
This takes the pain and mistakes out of backing up your data and allows us
to get you up and running quickly in case you have an unavoidable disaster.

- I hear a whirring sound every time I pull up a file, should I be
worried?
- YES. It is very likely that your hard drive is going to crash
and unless you have a proper backup system in place and in use you could loose all
of your stuff (files, photos, music, business documents etc.)
- Is it really possible to buy a new computer for under $600?
- We fix or upgrade these bargain computers every week. Why? We
could write a book on this. Some of the most common reasons we end of upgrading and
fixing these bargain computers is because they are loaded with trial software that
clogs up the system, are frequently put together with the cheapest parts possible
and the least powerful processors. We sell new Dell computers and we set them up to
meet your needs based on the type of programs you run.
- Can I get Windows XP installed on my new computer?
- As of October 2009, yes you can. Windows 7 is now available and at this point we
don’t know how much longer XP will still be supported.
- Will You Patiently Answer All of My Questions?
- No one wants to admit that they don’t do this but this is what our clients tell us.
Many of our competitors act like “know it alls” and will make you feel dumb, computer
illiterate, inexperienced or inferior just for asking a question. We want you
to ask every question you can think of at your appointment. We want you to
feel comfortable even if you think your question might be silly or stupid – Don’t
Worry It Isn’t.
